Preferred Development is a Chicago-based commercial real estate development and management company.

Formed in 1993 in order to pursue single tenant retail development opportunities, the company is now one of the most aggressive developers and owners of properties in the Midwest.

Since its inception, Preferred has been a tenant-driven organization working with some of the nation's most respected retailers including Starbuck's, Bank of America, Jiffy Lube, Sherwin Williams, Chase Bank, Morgan Stanley, Five Guys Burgers, Aldi and Walgreens.  In fact, since the mid-1990s, Preferred has assisted Walgreens Company in their expansion throughout the Midwest and Arizona. 
In addition, Preferred has been involved in a variety of state and federal projects with the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, Department of Child Services, Department of Family Resources and the US Department of Agriculture to name a few.

With a seasoned in-house site selection, planning, construction management, leasing, marketing and brokerage staff, Preferred covers all aspects of the development process and meticulously monitors progress to ensure that projects are delivered on time and on budget.
