The practice that is now Primary Eyecare began with Dr. Mike DiGirolamo in California in the 1970’s and was relocated to Charlottesville in 1987 under the name of 20/20 Optometry. Dr. Mike DiGirolamo moved the practice to the current Barracks Road location in 1995, providing patients with an expanded facility and easier access. Drs. Joe and Janice DiGirolamo joined the Primary Eyecare staff in 1996, working with Dr. Mike until his retirement in the late 1990’s. Since then, the practice and scope of patient services has only continued to grow. We have multiple doctors on staff to assist in all of your eye care needs. Today, Primary Eyecare has two state-of-the-art facilities in Charlottesville, VA.
