Project Inspire is a teacher residency operating through a partnership of Hamilton County Department of Education, Lee University, Public Education Foundation, National Center For Teacher Residency, AmeriCorps, and The National Science Foundation. With the underlying belief that every child deserves a mind-blowing math science, or elementary teacher regardless of zip code, Project Inspire prepares effective teachers in order to foster equity for every Hamilton County student. Project Inspire Teacher Residency is preparing new teachers specifically for Hamilton County schools with a vision of provide every urban student with passionate, effective, and caring teachers. Located in Chattanooga, TN, Project Inspire recruits locally, regionally, and nationally for talented individuals who want to make a career shift to teaching and specifically impact urban students in our city. Project Inspire Teacher Residency prepares residents to become secondary math, science or elementary teachers. Residents pursue a M.A.T from Lee University that blends a full year classroom apprenticeship with graduate level coursework, all supported by an intensive resident/mentor partnership.
