Project Transformation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1998 to provide two primary services: (1) Socially conscious leadership training and ministry exploration for college-aged young adults; and (2) Academic, health, spiritual, and recreational programming for children, youth, and teens in the North Texas area.

Project Transformation provides the first service by offering young adults who are interested in service and ministry terms of service during the Afterschool and Summer Programs. Project Transformation believes that future leaders need the opportunity to serve hands-on in their communities.

The young adults, in turn, are the key to delivering academic, spiritual, and enrichment programming for children and youth across the Dallas area, including afterschool programs, summer day camps, and an overnight camping experience. Project Transformation has expanded in size and scope since its founding and now serves ten site locations in several distinct areas of need in North Texas: Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove, east Dallas, northwest Dallas, Farmers Branch, and one rural, low-income community in Denison, Texas.

Today, 100 young adults serve approximately 1,000 children and youth, grades 1st-9th, and provide a leadership development program to high school youth, grades 10th-12th, at ten summer sites and seven afterschool sites. In our 18-year history, Project Transformation has equipped over 1,000 young adults for future leadership and has served over 8,000 children and youth. Project Transformation is raising leaders of the next generation while making a significant impact in the communities it serves, turning dormant neighborhood space into vital assets.
