Company Overview
Quake Kare is the industry leading manufacturer and supplier of ER™ Emergency Ready Disaster Preparedness kits in the U.S.  Quake Kare was originally founded in 1982 by former CEO/Owner Sherry Heitz.  Sherry identified a need in California's "earthquake country" for ready-made emergency survival kits for homes in the event a strong earthquake occurs leaving families stranded without food, water or other essential survival supplies.  The company has since grown their product line to include disaster preparedness kits for all locations and disasters and an extensive line of survival supplies.  Quake Kare's assets were purchased by non-profit Lighthouse for the Blind in February 2014.  The company is now headquartered in St. Louis, MO.  All Quake Kare branded kits are currently assembled by employees who are legally blind.  Profits from the sale of these kits fund programs that provide support and resources to adults and children who are legally blind in Eastern Missouri and Western Illinois.
