Questar III BOCES is a regional provider of education administration programs based in Castleton on Hudson, New York. It delivers more than 275 educational and administrative services to 22 school districts in Rensselaer, Columbia and Greene counties, and also offers statewide support to over 640 districts across New York. The organization traces its origins to separate entities formed in the 1950s and 1960s, merging in 1977 under the name Rensselaer-Columbia-Greene BOCES, before adopting the Questar III designation in 1994 to reflect cooperative leadership in excellence and innovation. With a substantial staff, the organization functions as a central provider of support to multiple districts within its region. In March 2026, Questar III appointed Emma Johnson as its Director of Health and Safety, a recent leadership addition to its administration. The BOCES provides instructional and administrative services and supports career and technical education and related programs across its service area.
