Once upon a time, Justin and Jennifer Jones, owners of Southern Hospitality Ventures, Inc., first fell in love with Raising Cane’s® while they were students attending Louisiana State University. As frequent Customers, they always loved the hot and fresh chicken fingers and Cane’s sauce, but never really thought about owning their own Restaurant. Then one day Justin came upon the brand’s booth while attending an LSU career fair. Speaking mostly from his growling stomach, he jokingly asked, “So, how can I own one of these?”

What started out as a simple, not-so-serious question led to a stream of conversations that resulted in Justin joining Raising Cane’s in 2002 during his senior year. Justin soon realized his love for chicken fingers extended beyond his hunger pangs due to Cane's great opportunities. Justin began his Cane’s career as a Crewmember and quickly worked his way through different Management positions, playing an important role in assisting with the Company’s initial growth. After graduation, Justin was approached about opening his own Restaurant in a brand new city for Cane’s - Lincoln, Nebraska. Neither Justin nor Jennifer had been to Lincoln before, so they hopped on a plane and checked out the site that was selected for Lincoln's first Raising Cane’s (48th & R). Within 4 weeks, they sold their house in Baton Rouge, packed up their belongings and moved to Nebraska.

Southern Hospitality Ventures now owns 5 Nebraska locations and continues their passion for growth of the Raising Cane's brand.
