Avoid "turn'em and burn'em" high volume law firms.  A firm that must turn over a large number of cases in order to pay for huge overhead probably will not give you the attention you deserve.

Avoid a law office where you will not be personally meeting with your attorney. Many law offices only have a lawyer in the office one day a week.  In fact, there are many law offices where you will NEVER meet the lawyer whose name is on the door.
