Established in 1985, Red Blossom Tea Company is San Francisco’s premier source for artisanal tea and teaware. We are direct importers, traveling each year to the tea gardens and studios that produce our range of premium whole leaf teas and traditional teaware. During our sourcing trips, we focus on provenance, varietal, harvest season, and crafting technique as our guide to the best crops. Founded by the Luong family, we first opened our doors as a neighborhood apothecary serving San Francisco's diverse Chinatown community. Our shop was originally known as Yau Hing (meaning 'to flourish again'), a nod to our community's immigrant background and the opportunity we received for a fresh start in this country. During our time in business, Yau Hing garnered renown for our selection of quality tea and Chinese herbs. We’ve made a few changes since our early days: we redesigned our tasting room and added English descriptions to our canisters. Our business has grown along the way too, and today we’ve partnered with the nation’s most respected restaurants to introduce the artisanal tea experience to fine dining. One thing hasn't changed: our dedication to quality and staying true to the traditions and standards that have guided Red Blossom Tea Company since its founding.
