Refresh Your Step grew out of crisis. In 2008, the Great Recession, Founder, Emily Kapit, finalized the graduate degree that would become the backbone of her career advisory work. Simultaneously she was swamped with requests from friends and colleagues who needed help figuring out their next step career wise. While corporations and small businesses shuttered their doors and many experienced financial ruin, Emily jumped in a year before planned – she saw a need and knew she could help ­– so she did.
 
For 10+ years, RYS has been assisting working professionals at every level globally to navigate change, find career fulfillment, and build resilience. In that time, Emily has expanded the company as well as gained multiple resume writing certifications (she was the youngest globally to gain the 3X Certified / Master Resume Writer status).
 
Emily and her team have zeroed in on the most effective method for resume / LinkedIn content and job search strategy; The Kapitalize Process. This methodology is the core of RYS's work; holistic with a focus on collaborating with clients, taking a step back, reframing their experience, realigning their documents, and revitalizing their career goals.
