Resource Fiber is the only vertically integrated bamboo fiber products company in the U.S. growing bamboo commercially, selling raw bamboo fiber and manufacturing high-performing sustainable bamboo products.  Operations are underway in southwestern Alabama, an area with exceptional growing conditions for bamboo - and a region with significant social hardship.


Led by David Knight (also co-founder of Teragren Bamboo in 1998), the Resource Fiber team has over 100+ years of collective knowledge and experience in growing bamboo, the development and operations of bamboo manufacturing technology, and commercialization of bamboo products.  

The global market is estimated to be more than $60B and is growing rapidly.  Currently, the company has initiated the development and commercialization of three high-demand bamboo industrial products:  Bamboo Railroad Bridge Ties, Bamboo Truck/Trailer decking, and Bamboo Nail Laminated Timbers.   Future products include bamboo bio-composites, carbon fiber, and additive manufacturing polymers.

Bamboo is a rapidly renewable plant that is widely used in the manufacture of hundreds of products - the majority imported from China.  Bamboo is a sustainable replacement for old growth wood fiber and petroleum-based products. It is renewable annually, produces 20 times more fiber than trees and captures 5 times more carbon than a like-sized stand of trees.
