Our mission is to provide the best possible service at the lowest possible cost. Unlike a private company, we can focus on serving only the needs of our customers. We do not try to make a profit to provide dividends to stockholders. As a municipal utility, our daily operations and our capital improvements are funded through our revenues. We do not use tax dollars. In fact, we give the city and county hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in lieu of tax payments. Ripley Power and Light is governed by a Board of Directors. Members are appointed by the City Council. The board generally meets at 12:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. (Meeting times are subject to change.)
