Riverside Industries, Inc., was founded in June 1968 by a small group of bold and progressive individuals who sought a better life for their family members living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, Riverside employs nearly 130 people (direct support professionals, van drivers, occupational and physical therapists, and administrative staff) and provides individualized services to over 160 clients throughout Western Massachusetts. Riverside’s core program combines day habilitation, life skill development, job skill training, transition services for students beginning at age 14, and individual or group employment options for adults living with a wide range of disabilities. Riverside’s mission is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to maximize their opportunities for acceptance, independence, personal growth, and employment throughout their lives.
