Rosetta Resources is an independent oil and gas company based in Houston, Texas, focused on exploring, developing, and exploiting onshore energy resources in the United States. The company emphasizes becoming an unconventional resource player, with the Eagle Ford shale in South Texas emerging as its largest producing area and recent acquisitions expanding its Permian Basin acreage. Its strategic shift over the past couple of years has prioritized liquids-rich production and a reduced-cost structure, including divesting higher-cost natural gas assets to fund shale initiatives. Rosetta traces its history to a streamlined organization after divesting legacy assets in 2010, and its current objectives include expanding high-return inventory in Eagle Ford, simplifying operations, testing the Southern Alberta Basin position, and leveraging the cyclical nature of the industry. The business targets customers seeking onshore oil and gas development opportunities within the United States and operates within the broader oil and gas sector in a Midstream-adjacent, exploration and production capacity role.
