Founded in 1948 by Walter Bell, Rotuba is a privately owned – 3rd generation company – with headquarters and manufacturing locations in Linden and Garwood, NJ. In 1973, Albert Bell transitioned in as President assuming day-to-day responsibility for the company. Today, Rotuba is headed by Adam Bell who started in 1995 as the Sales Manager for the Extrusion Division. Rotuba is the largest independent global custom compounder of Cellulosics – a wood based polymer and one of the largest custom profile extruders for the Lighting Industry. Additionally, Rotuba recently purchased Pen Company of America (formerly known as Rotary Pen), then only pen company still manufacturing pens in the U.S. Our facility operates 24 hours a day and has almost 70 years of extrusion experience. Rotuba is well positioned to help our customers in developing challenging new products. Our on-site capabilities include a full laboratory to develop and quality check custom colors and fragrances. Additionally, our tool and die machine shop can develop custom extrusion tooling within days incorporating 3D printing capabilities. Finally, our fully integrated SharePoint Engineering & QC system helps keep track of the 100’s of different designs we develop each year. We are the leading supplier in each of our divisions into some of the biggest companies in the world and look forward to working with you on your new project. Since 1955, Rotuba has been producing Cellulose Acetate, a versatile material with a vast array of potential applications. Today, we’re the largest independent producer worldwide of Cellulose Acetate (CA) and a custom scent compounder of Cellulose Acetate Propionate (CAP) and Cellulose Acetate Butyrate (CAB). To meet the needs of many manufacturers now pursuing environmental initiatives, we’ve recently launched two sustainable Cellulose products: Auracell® Scented Natural Polymer and Naturacell® Natural Polymer.
