Royal Bodewes is a Dutch shipyard group based in Hoogezand in the Groningen region, with roots dating back to 1812. It designs and builds ships in close collaboration with shipowners, prioritizing quality, reliability and flexibility in its processes. The company specializes in multipurpose general cargo vessels in the 2,000 to 14,000 DWT range and also builds specialized vessels such as oil tankers, LNG carriers, cement tankers, paper carriers, and tugboats, supported by an in-house design team capable of developing additional vessel types as required. Its customers are shipowners seeking vessels tailored to their operations, with the organization's integrated design and construction approach delivering customized solutions. The shipyard group operates along the Winschoterdiep and is positioned as a modern player in the shipbuilding industry, including projects that explore hybrid-powered and methanol-ready configurations. A concrete recent development is the July 2025 launch of NB 715 from the Ritsema location in Foxhol.
