To entertain, enrich and educate our region’s residents and visitors through production of innovative professional theatrical productions, festivals, special events and education programs.
Rubicon’s Goals Include:
ARTISTIC
* To provide our region’s residents with intellectually stimulating, emotionally powerful theater.
* To mount professional productions which celebrate the human spirit through the power of language and the art of storytelling.
* To present provocative plays which illuminate issues of relevance to our local community, and to do so with artistry and imagination.
* To provide a nurturing environment for the development of new works, thereby drawing regional and national attention to the City and County of Ventura.
* To develop a core acting ensemble, working toward a common artistic vision.
* To create and sustain an International Theatre Festival, bringing lively productions from around the world to Ventura.
* To present a balanced season of musicals, comedies and dramas selected from the following repertoires:
o American classics
o Modern American plays
o Plays by minority playwrights
o Classics from other cultures
o World or area premieres of new works
o New or seldom-produced musicals or musical revues
