S44 Energy builds EV charging software and services designed to support operators at every stage of growth. With more than a decade of experience in EV charging, we help networks launch, scale, and evolve using open standards, flexible architectures, and production-proven software foundations. We are the original authors of CitrineOS, an open-source Charge Station Management System (CSMS) foundation built around industry standards including OCPP, OCPI, and ISO 15118, and now hosted by Linux Foundation Energy. CitrineOS serves as the extensible core behind many real-world deployments and enables operators to avoid vendor lock-in while retaining long-term control over their platforms. In 2026, our focus is clear: supporting multiple paths to scale—without forcing a single platform, pricing model, or business approach. Our offerings include: CitrineOS (Open Source CSMS Foundation) An open, standards-based CSMS foundation designed for interoperability, extensibility, and real-world deployment. CitrineOS powers production environments and serves as the backbone for custom and commercial platforms alike. Custom Software & Professional Services For organizations ready to differentiate, we design and build proprietary features, integrations, and workflows on top of CitrineOS—giving operators ownership of their software, roadmap, and IP. TopazEV (Commercial CSMS) For teams not yet ready to invest in a fully custom platform, TopazEV offers subscription-based charging software built on the same open foundation. It uses predictable, flat monthly pricing that scales with network growth—without transaction fees or revenue share. Whether launching a new charging network or modernizing an existing one, S44 Energy provides the software backbone to support sustainable growth—today and into the future.
