Sabesp is a mixed-capital utility established in 1973 in Brazil, responsible for supplying water and for collecting and treating sewage across 375 municipalities in the state of São Paulo. It is among the world's largest sanitation operators by population served, delivering water to about 27.9 million people and handling wastewater for roughly 21.5 million residents. The company also extends services through private partnerships to four additional municipalities—Mogi-Mirim, Castilho, Andradina and Mairinque—and participates in water recycling through its own facilities and partnerships such as Aquapolo Ambiental, which supplies Capuava Petrochemical Complex. In addition to domestic operations, Sabesp pursues non-domestic sewage ventures via a partnership with Estre Ambiental (Attend Ambiental) and has established Paulista Geradora de Energia S.A. with Tecniplan Engenharia and Servtec in the electricity sector. It provides advisory services on rational water use and management, with activities in Panama, Honduras and Nicaragua in collaboration with Latin Consult. The company’s shares trade on BM&FBovespa and the NYSE as American Depositary Receipts, reflecting its status as a cross-market listed utility.
