Saint Martin’s University is an independent four-year, coeducational higher education institution located on a wooded campus of more than 300 acres in Lacey, Washington. Founded in 1895 by the Catholic Order of Saint Benedict, it is one of 14 Benedictine colleges and universities in the United States and Canada, and the only Benedictine institution west of the Rocky Mountains. The university offers 27 majors and 10 graduate programs spanning the liberal arts, business, education, nursing, and engineering. It serves more than 1,200 undergraduate students and 400 graduate students on its Lacey campus, with about 300 additional undergraduates enrolled at an extension campus at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The university employs between 501 and 1,000 people.
