Grant funding opportunity SDCOE recently secured a $25M countywide grant to implement the HeartSpire initiative, signaling readiness for scaleable education technology, program expansion, and equity-focused projects which could translate into opportunities for vendors in K-12 transformation, workforce development, and student support systems.

Health and EHR tech The organization has contracted TadHealth to deliver a county-wide Student Electronic Health Record system in support of CYBHI, presenting a selling point for health tech platforms, data interoperability, privacy-compliant student health solutions, and integration with existing SIS/ETL processes.

Technology footprint SDCOE maintains a diverse tech stack (AWS, JD Edwards, Kronos, ADP, ArcGIS, Siteimprove) indicating maturity in enterprise applications, potential for cross-sell of modernization services, cloud optimization, data analytics, and cybersecurity offerings across districts.

Strategic partnerships Active collaborations with Vista Unified and community-focused programs (Network Meetings, Salute to Teachers) show a willingness to partner with districts and nonprofits, creating openings for solutions in community schools, professional development, and student engagement platforms.

Scale and reach With direct education for over 3,000 students and support services for more than 500,000 across 42 districts, SDCOE represents a large-scale customer with procurement leverage and potential for multi-district contracts, renewals, and long-term service agreements in admin services, staffing, and IT infrastructure.
