San Diego Data Processing Corporation (SDDPC) was created by the City of San Diego in 1979 to operate the city's data communications infrastructure outside its wage and hour framework. It oversaw voice and data communications, the programs and processes surrounding them, and the coordination of activities that affected the applications used by city departments. The organization also developed applications for municipal use and possessed purchasing and contracting capabilities that served other cities as well. In 2010, the city pursued a new direction and issued an RFP that awarded the work SDDPC had performed to three vendors: Xerox for telecommunications, Atos for the data center, and CGI for applications. The city subsequently expanded its DoIT staff to manage these vendors, and SDDPC was subsequently closed around December 31, 2013. The company was based in San Diego, California, with an address at 5975 Santa Feira Street, and its website was sddpc.org.
