Sanford School is a private, co-educational day school serving PreK through high school, located on a 100-acre campus in Hockessin, Delaware. As a college-preparatory institution, it emphasizes developing students' intellectual and creative talents within a safe, supportive environment, with the aim of preparing them for higher education and future responsibilities. The school reports a 12:1 student-to-teacher ratio and average class sizes around 15, reflecting a hands-on approach to learning, and it maintains a 100% college acceptance rate. Sanford traces its origins to 1930, when Sanford and Ellen Sawin founded Sunny Hills School; the name was changed to Sanford in 1966. Its motto, No Talent Lies Latent, anchors the program, which seeks to develop the whole child within a diverse, college-preparatory environment. In December 2024, Sanford School announced a partnership with ESF Camps to operate camps on its campus for Summer 2025.
