Saras is a long-established Italian industrial company and a leading player in the energy sector, now fully integrated into Vitol, a global leader in energy and commodities trading. Our core business areas include oil refining and products sales, marine bunkering, as well as the production and sale of electricity, including from renewable sources. In particular, the Sarlux refinery in Sarroch (Cagliari) is one of the largest in the Mediterranean (300 thousand barrels/day) and among the most advanced in terms of plant complexity, and it is a reference point in terms of efficiency and environmental sustainability, thanks to the skills and technological know-how developed during more than 60 years of activity. We are also active in the production and sale of electricity, thanks to the Combined Cycle Gasification Plant integrated with the refinery, which plays an essential role in the stability and security of Sardinia's power grid. Through our subsidiary Sardeolica, we produce and sell renewable electricity from wind sources. The current total installed capacity is 171 MW and meets the annual energy needs of about 200,000 people.
