SASA is a Turkish chemical manufacturing company based in Adana, described as one of the leading producers in polyester-related sectors, with 1,001 to 5,000 employees and a portfolio that includes polyester, fiber, filament yarn, polyester-based polymers, specialty polymers and intermediate products. The company began polyester production in 1966 and expanded through sustained investments and collaborations, including a 2000 joint venture with DuPont that formed DupontSA, later renamed ADVANSA SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş.; after Sabancı Holding acquired ADVANSA BV in 2011, the entity was renamed SASA. By August 2015, ERDEMOĞLU Holding A.Ş. held 84.8% of SASA Polyester Sanayi A.Ş. SASA operates from an integrated Adana production complex spanning 2,181,000 square meters, with a 55,625 square meter raw material storage facility in Iskenderun and offices in Istanbul and Ankara, and it maintains a research and development center established in 2002. In recent years, SASA has engaged in external collaborations and financing, including a 2023 loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and a 2024 partnership with Carbios Group to develop a PET bio-recycling plant in the Adana region.
