We’re an award-winning, B Corp accredited Bristol-based travel company on an exciting journey. Our mission is to make the world a richer place to explore, by seeking out and celebrating special places to stay. We're proudly majority employee owned. What started out as a guide book to Special Places to Stay in France twenty years ago has now become two much-loved brands: Sawday's and Canopy & Stars. Both champion independent, small businesses run by people who have the courage and conviction to do their own thing. We've won awards, plaudits and a loyal band of followers who trust us to recommend only the most special places. Between our two brands we represent over 4,500 super special places to stay, from hillside fincas to treehouses to majestic chateaux and simple cottages. Each we have visited, each we think is very special, in its own particular way. We also believe that business should be a force for good, enriching rather than exploiting communities, the environment, our employees and the lives of those who use us. We’ve been drum-beaters for slow food, slow travel and ethical business before it was fashionable.
