The Schuler Scholar Program operates in the higher education sector, focusing on helping high-potential youths access and succeed at highly selective colleges and continue support through college and beyond. Its approach centers on students who are first-generation college-bound, students of color, or from low-income families, providing four years of high school support and ongoing professional development and services during college. Based in Lake Forest, Illinois, the organization partners with 14 high schools in Chicago and the northern suburbs, positioning itself as a bridge between underrepresented students and elite higher education opportunities. The program serves students and families seeking pathways to college success and long-term advancement, operating within a nonprofit framework that emphasizes sustained mentorship and preparation throughout the college process. A recent development noted involves an initiative related to funding commitments, reflecting ongoing efforts to adapt to evolving program needs while maintaining a focus on its mission.
