The Scouting America Buckeye Council is a non-profit organization in the scouting sector, based in Canton, Ohio at 2301 13th Street Northwest Canton, Ohio 44708 United States. It operates as a local council of the Boy Scouts of America and serves about 4,700 youth and 2,500 adults across Wyandot, Marion, Crawford, Morrow, Richland, Ashland, Wayne, Holmes, Stark, Tuscarawas, Carroll and Columbiana counties in Ohio as well as parts of Hancock County in West Virginia. The council's history dates to 1958, when the McKinley Area Council (Canton) and the Massillon Area Council merged; earlier, the first Scout Troop in Massillon was organized in 1911 and the first Boy Scout Troop formed in Canton in 1912. The organization employs 11-50 people and maintains a website at buckeyecouncil.org. In recent years, Buckeye Council has engaged in partnerships, including a 2021 collaboration with Western Reserve Land Conservancy to protect 195 acres of historic lands in Columbiana County, and a 2023 emergency-preparedness event announced in partnership with West Virginia University at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Glen Jean, West Virginia.
