Segway-Ninebot: Globally operating company manufacturing and selling luxury electronic goods, from a set-up European regional office based in Amsterdam. The company started in 1999 with inventor Dean Kamen, who invented the product where Segway is known for, the personal transporter. After years of selling the products to tour operators, security, police, warehouses and other B2B solutions, the company merged with the Chinese company Ninebot in 2015. The combined company now focuses on the research and development, design, manufacturing, distribution and sales of short-distance transportation products for enterprises as well as consumers.
