Senior Legal Services is a non-profit law office dedicated to empowering seniors who are low-income, disadvantaged, or disabled, ensuring they have access to justice when they otherwise would not. Senior Legal Services focuses on advocacy and legal assistance to help seniors secure their basic rights. 

Serving individuals aged 60 and older in Santa Cruz and San Benito Counties, Senior Legal Services offers a wide range of civil legal services. Many laws exist to protect seniors, but these laws often require legal intervention to be fully realized. Seniors facing critical issues often cannot afford private legal counsel, or their cases may be too complex for typical private representation. Senior Legal Services bridges this gap by providing free legal services, emphasizing in cases that address the following:

- Medicare and Medi-Cal Denials 
- Elder Abuse including Financial Abuse and Fraud 
- Social Security, SSI, SSDI Denials, and Overpayments 
- Age Discrimination 
- Consumer Problems 
- Debt Collection
- Mobile Home Issues 
- Tenant Rights 
- Nursing Homes, Residential Care Facilities & Patient Rights
- Power of Attorney 
- Advanced Health Care Directive
 
In addition to offering individual legal representation, Senior Legal Services advocates for seniors on a broader scale, working before judicial, administrative, and legislative bodies to influence policies that impact the senior community. The program's highest priorities include:

1. Providing legal support to low-income, frail, and minority seniors facing issues that impact on their basic needs.
2. Ensuring that seniors are secure in their persons and property.
3. Fighting against age and disability discrimination, as well as all forms of abuse.
