Sergio Escobar y Cia. Ltda., fue creada en 1985, como una empresa familiar dedicada a la venta de vehículos, su fundador Sergio Escobar Muñoz, obtuvo su experiencia en el rubro automotriz a través de su desempeño como Gerente Comercial en CREDISUR y DIVESA, empresas pioneras en concesión de vehículos y crédito automotriz. Es gracias a dicha experiencia, que logra posicionarse como concesionario oficial de dos prestigiosas marcas del mercado automotriz mundial como lo son NISSAN y SUZUKI, además de complementar su oferta con una división de repuestos de la mismas marcas representadas, así como también un servicio técnico autorizado.
 
Tras algunos años, con el ánimo de validar el carácter familiar de la empresa, se incorporaron a la compañía en 1997 los hijos María Soledad Escobar Miranda y Sergio Escobar Miranda, Abogado e Ingeniero Comercial respectivamente, con el principal objetivo de lograr a corto plazo, el liderazgo en ventas de las marcas representadas. A su vez, durante el mismo año, la compañía consigue la representación de una tercera marca, MAZDA, lo que vino a fortalecer la imagen de la empresa y su posicionamiento en el mercado automotriz de la ciudad de Concepción.
 
Entre 1999 y 2000 fue la época de mayor crecimiento de la empresa, sumándose la incorporación de tres nuevas representaciones, así como también la apertura de sucursales en la ciudad de Chillán (1999), Los Ángeles (2000), y la incorporación de un nuevo servicio de Desabolladura y Pintura.  Posteriormente, en Septiembre 2017 abre instalaciones en la ciudad de Osorno, con toda la linea de negocios.
 
Actualmente, con más de 30 años de  trayectoria en el mercado automotriz, Sergio Escobar y Cía. Ltda. cuenta con una participación de mercado del 16% en venta de vehículos en la región.
