Services for Independent Living (SIL) is a non-profit Center for Independent Living that promotes independence for persons with disabilities by following the Independent Living Philosophy. We are part of 22 Centers in the state of Missouri. SIL is Consumer-Controlled with fifty-one percent or more of staff and Board of Directors being individuals with disabilities; Community-Based by offering programs and services designed to support community integration; Cross-Disability by serving people with all types of disabilities; Cross Life Span by serving people from cradle to the grave; and Non-Residential by not owning or operating any residential care facilities. Mission: SIL empowers people to maximize their independence. Vision: SIL will be a leader in changing society's perception of disability.
