The society maintains a landscape that preserves much of the district’s original rural character, including an orchard, gardens, pastureland, and portions of nearby natural preserves, while managing nine historic structures and a Shaker cemetery in collaboration with Albany County. Its programs, including craft fairs and a farm component featuring heritage breeds, serve diverse audiences and support local crafts and agricultural traditions as part of its broader mission to enrich the Capital Region. The organization positions itself within museums, historical sites, and related cultural heritage spaces, highlighting notable Shaker innovations, design, and cultural impact rooted in its Albany site.
