Shaw/Stewart Lumber Company is the Twin Cities oldest lumber company and source for premium architectural millwork. It also is home to the Twin Cities only Marvin Design Gallery. We serve Minnesota’s fine homebuilders, premier remodelers, and commercial general contractors.

Our heritage began in 1886 with the WR Shaw Lumber Co. in St. Paul. After purchasing G.C. Jefferson Lumber Co. in 1924 and the Stewart Lumber Co. in 1985, the consolidated company ultimately was renamed Shaw/Stewart Lumber Co. in 1996.

For more than 130 years, we have built our company on mutual trust, quality products and personal service. Much has changed as we have innovated and invested in growth. But we are proud to have nurtured a legacy of contractor and architect relationships where a simple handshake remains our bond.

Shaw/Stewart’s 18-acre lumber yard sits in the heart of the Twin Cities and houses a 30,000 sq. ft. millwork shop, large-timber processing facility, Fire-Retardant Lumber treatment operation, retail showroom, Marvin Design Gallery, and contains more indoor and covered storage than any lumberyard in the state. The professional contractor will appreciate our premium facility and central location when it comes to responsive service and maintaining the highest quality product to meet their needs.
