Sheffield Place is a nonprofit organization based in Kansas City, Missouri, dedicated to helping homeless mothers and their children who face trauma, mental health challenges, substance use issues, and domestic violence. The organization runs four interconnected service streams—Residential, Residential Clinical, Aftercare, and Outpatient/ perman ent Housing—delivered entirely on site. It focuses exclusively on this population, applying trauma-informed, evidence-based approaches and tailoring the length of stay to the needs of each family. 

The on-site facility can house up to 24 families at a time, and in 2023 it provided services to 139 families, representing up to 296 individuals, across its residential and aftercare/outpatient programs. Founded in 1991, Sheffield Place has supported homeless mothers and their children on the path toward self-sufficiency for decades.
