The annual cost of corrosion in the United States is estimated to be approximately $276B USD or approximately 3.1% of the US GDP.  Worldwide corrosion is estimated to cost over $1.8T USD (WCO; 2005). The Envelop® material was developed for the US military through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program with the goal of developing a material to replace vinyl then in use on US Navy ships.  Since 2004 has created over a 1,000 cover designs and delivered over 100,000 Envelop® covers to military, commercial and consumers worldwide.

Envelop® is a patented material that consists of multiple layers of material which include a weatherproof exterior shell, a breathable waterproof membrane, a Vapor phase Corrosion Inhibitor (VCI), and wicking layers.  Impact resistant and insulating materials can be added to the fabric as required for protection of both equipment and personnel.  Envelop® has been proven to provide superior UV protection, maintain equipment within 11% of the ambient temperature, reduce sand and grit intrusion by up to 95%, and provide superior impact protection.  Envelop® has provided Return on Investments (ROI) of up to 40:1, reduced the Total Ownership Costs (TOC), and have proven short pay-back periods.  Improved equipment readiness, reduced costs, and freed-up man-hours have been documented by users around the globe.
