HR Florida State Council, Inc. operates as the Florida affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and serves more than 16,000 SHRM members in the state. As a 100% volunteer organization, its core aim is to support SHRM's mission through education, coordinating professional development, and acting as the communication link among SHRM, its chapters, and at-large members. The council encompasses Florida's 28 SHRM-affiliated chapters and is organized into eleven geographic districts whose district directors provide regional support, under a president and executive committee that oversee daily operations. A set of standing committees addresses key HR topics, including certification, diversity, global affairs, governmental affairs, membership, professional development, technology, and workforce readiness. In May 2022, Suncoast HR announced a partnership with HR Florida State Council to advance its quarterly community cause.
