Sickle Cell 101 (SC101) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that specializes in sickle cell education. We are the largest online platform dedicated solely to sickle cell education.

The SC101 team is consistent of Sickle Cell Educators certified by the Department of Public Health, sickle cell patients, caregivers, advocates, researchers and an expert sickle cell and thalassemia physician. 

SC101 also works closely with some of the top medical physicians and researchers within the field of hematology.

SC101’s mission is to educate all people affected by sickle cell primarily through the use of social media. Our methods allow us to reach and educate people by the tens of thousands around the world. What makes SC101 unique is our Social Media Education Program. Through the use of patient-friendly graphics and quick and simple facts, we educate the sickle cell community and the general public on sickle cell disease and trait. 

On social media, our information is liked, commented on, shared, and reposted, and historically our posts have reached and engaged up to 85,000 people. Sickle Cell 101 has yielded the largest following of sickle cell patients and their caregivers on Instagram, and have a growing 45k followers on combined platforms. Our information is accessed by people from over 110 countries on six
continents.
