Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship (SBTS) is a volunteer-driven 501c3 nonprofit founded in 2003 to enhance, restore and build trails in the Sierra Buttes, Tahoe, Plumas and Lassen National Forests. Our mission is building sustainable recreation-based communities through stewardship, job creation and world-class events, and providing quality outdoor experiences through trail construction and maintenance in the Lost Sierra. Since SBTS was founded, the organization's trail crews have built 176 miles of new trail, maintained 2,302 miles and rallied some 122,000 volunteer hours in the forests of the Lost Sierra. SBTS hosts volunteer weekends, trail days and races that showcase the singular beauty of the area. The Stewardship also operates a shuttle and bicycle demo business in Quincy, California, called Yuba Expeditions.
