Sigma Validation was a market research services firm based in Fort Lee, New Jersey. Over several decades, it delivered validation and auditing services intended to ensure sampling specifications and research requirements were met, and it helped introduce the first computerized validation technique in 1978 through a collaboration with General Foods, which later became part of Mondelez International/Kraft Heinz. This approach was adopted by major consumer goods companies as an informal standard for ensuring sampling integrity in research processes. The company ceased operations on June 30, 2018, and its advocacy was continued through the formation of CASE4Quality, the Coalition for Advancing Sampling Excellence. CASE4Quality seeks to promote transparency and accountability across the research supply chain by fostering collaboration among corporate buyers, agencies, and providers. The initiative includes participation from buyers at Kraft Heinz, Hershey, GE Appliance, P&G, Walmart, Disney, Amazon, and Pepsi, among others.
