Some roof problems are caused by storms while others are caused by faulty workmanship or wear and tear. Our team of inspectors has 3 decades of roofing experience each. All have served as a mechanic, project foreman, manager and company owner. The breadth and depth of their experience is unmatched, having installed and serviced every type of roof in the Northeast. When we investigate, we don't just look at the interior damage, or climb partway up a ladder to observe the general condition of the roof. Silver McGee inspectors get up on each roof and photograph the details that matter. We note the age of the roof, the number of layers, the present conditions, and the installation quality of each roof. Our inspectors' lifetime knowledge of roofing and waterproofing make their analysis of roof failures both accurate and thorough – in a word, unassailable. Their determinations are based on industry published standards, prevailing building codes, and practical contracting knowledge. Inspectors interview the property owners to learn the leak history and work history of the structure. Inspectors discuss the conditions and their findings with the property owners also, helping them to understand the issues contributing to failure. Our reports include detailed descriptions of roofing conditions, thorough failure analysis, clear photos and repair/replacement cost breakdowns if warranted.
