Since 2012, the Social Impact Media Awards (SIMA Awards) have set new standards of creative excellence and integrity in global impact storytelling, recognizing exceptional nonfiction cinema that brings vital social issues into public conversation.

Through its year-round initiatives—Cinema Across Borders and SIMA Academy—SIMA brings award-winning documentaries into communities and classrooms worldwide, fostering dialogue, coalition building, and meaningful civic engagement.

SIMA’s Fiscal Sponsorship program supports creative impact projects across more than 50 countries, helping filmmakers, artists, and cultural innovators access philanthropic funding and bring socially engaged work to life.
