At a Glance… Simmons College of Kentucky is a private four-year liberal arts college founded in 1879 by and affiliated with the General Association of Baptists in Kentucky (GABKY). Simmons is Louisville’s only and the Commonwealth of Kentucky’s oldest historically black institution of higher education.
