The firm was established in 1948 and currently has 25 Partners and Associate Partners and over 150 staff.  Our main office is in Central London, with additional offices in North London, Sussex, and Gibraltar. Our core client group consists of successful, privately-owned businesses ranging from start-ups to businesses with turnover in excess of £100m. Over the years we have helped many of these clients to grow nationally and internationally.

In December 2023, Simmons Gainsford joined the Sumer Group, the UK and Ireland’s leading mid-market accountancy practice delivering professional support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It is a top 15 UK accountancy practice consisting of over 2,500 people across more than 50 UK offices.

A key focus of our business is inward investment to the UK, especially from the emerging Asian and Eastern European markets. Our multilingual Partners and team members have strong links in these jurisdictions and are ideally placed to help businesses seeking to trade in and with the UK.

We also have extensive experience in dealing with the personal taxation affairs of foreign nationals residing or working in the UK. And, with our Gibraltar office, we are perfectly placed to advise UK nationals looking to establish residence in Gibraltar.
