Smart Design Studio is an architecture and planning practice based in Alexandria, New South Wales, Australia. The studio adopts a Modernist influence while treating form as an intentional response to site and program, enriching designs with layered detail and surface texture. Its approach moves from overall massing to precise joinery, ensuring each solution aligns with the site, the client’s brief, and how a space will be used. The firm emphasizes contributing to the public realm and respecting the surrounding environment, blending contemporary technology with considerations of light, outlook, interior well-being, and sustainability. Operating in the architecture and planning sector, Smart Design Studio serves clients seeking projects that balance external presence with interior experience—ranging from multi-storey buildings to private homes. Collaboration is central to its process, working with builders, consultants, and authorities to realise complex projects. A recent collaboration with Yazbek produced a seven-metre-wide interior space characterized by a restrained aesthetic dominated by stainless steel and natural stone.
