Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative (SECC) is a nonprofit organization focused on advancing the understanding of energy consumers to help the energy industry better serve customers and communities. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, SECC operates with a small staff and holds 501(c)(3) status. The organization structures its work around three core activities: conducting primary research to listen to consumers, convening stakeholders through events and sharing best practices, and creating outreach tools to educate consumers. SECC aims to be a trusted authority on energy consumers within the utilities sector, studying consumer behaviors, interests, and concerns in the energy transition. Its work targets utilities and other industry stakeholders seeking to design consumer-centric programs while providing resources to help consumers navigate energy choices. In 2026, it reintroduced its Members Meeting and Fall Workshop as Smart Energy Exchange, a refreshed event designed to reflect current industry conversations.
