Professional Armed Security Agents. We have an extensive list of off-duty, retired, and former law enforcement officers that serve as our armed security agents on-site or as executive and dignitary protection detail.

SMART Security Pros is locally headquartered locally in Lanham, Maryland and serves Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and Southern Pennsylvania.

Our SMART Leadership
Founder and CEO, Shawn Scarlata, brings over 25 years of law enforcement and security experience to SMART Security Pros. Shawn served as a member of the Prince George’s County Police Department for 22 years before serving as CEO of a privately-owned security company in Washington, DC. During Shawn’s leadership tenure, his former company’s size grew from 25 to 300 employees with revenue growth of over 2000 percent in 6 years – and was recognized as one of the top security firms in the region by the Washington Business Journal as well as 3 years in a row on the Inc.500 list of America’s fastest growing companies. 

In 2016, Shawn independently launched SMART Security Pros with the mission to provide comprehensive security solutions to clients with the best personnel and latest technology.
