Smith Maran Architecture + Interiors llc is an award-winning partnership founded in 1997 and based in Montclair, New Jersey.  Smith Maran intentionally seeks to satisfy a wide range of design needs.  In addition to creating distinctive public and private environments, the firm specializes in developing architectural, interior and graphic design solutions for businesses, property owners and institutions seeking to further define or reconceive their public image.  Smith Maran is recognized for identifying and enriching the intrinsically unique conditions - site, program and identity - of any given project.

Our office serves clients with a wide range of needs and, in so doing, is able to recognize and attend to the unique needs of each project.  In its corporate, property development and institutional work, Smith Maran often provides multi-scale turn-key design and project management, particularly to clients who lack the internal design staff required to manage such projects.  In its mixed-use work, along with basic architectural services, Smith Maran regularly provides feasibility work in the form of preliminary design and surveying, concept and branding studies, code analysis and capital plan budgeting.
