Sokowatch, based in Nairobi, operates a B2B platform that connects small shops to suppliers and the broader digital economy. By enabling mobile ordering and delivery, it helps retailers obtain essential goods faster and more cheaply, addressing long-standing supply-chain inefficiencies and reducing the need for wholesalers or banks. Its customer base comprises small retailers across East Africa, with a footprint spanning Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Uganda, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The company operates as a sizable regional employer, reflecting a broad footprint in consumer services. In 2024, Sokowatch merged with MaxAB, creating a larger distribution platform that serves more than 450,000 merchants.
