Somerset Apartment Management is headquartered in Charlotte, NC.  We provide a wholly integrated package of property management services, including:  on-site asset management, construction supervision and due diligence.   While SAM is positioned to provide national support, we have chosen to focus on properties in the Southeastern United States.   We currently own and operate apartment communities in nine states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia,  Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia and Tennessee.  

Somerset’s clients are selective, discerning investors from some of the world’s wealthiest families who have long invested in commercial real estate to accumulate wealth and provide predictable current income.  Unlike many real estate funds, Somerset’s goal is not to own the greatest number of properties or square feet, but rather to identify the most profitable, high-quality investment in our chosen asset classes and markets.  While they view themselves as long-term Sponsors, when evaluating an investment opportunity their primary considerations are always profitability, exit strategy and the specific portfolio requirements of their equity partners.  Their conservative investment philosophy, disciplined investment process and dedication to timely divestiture have generated extraordinary returns for their investors.  Since 2001, the firm has invested approximately $1.6 billion.  As a multifamily apartment community investor, Somerset has acquired and asset-managed over 15,000 units since 2002.  Since 2005, Somerset has sold and refinanced approximately 12,500 units at an average gross IRR of over 24%.
